My saddest discovery was that our family photo albums did not arrive. i.e. our wedding photos, and our best photos of our children when they were little. Needless to say, this discovery was accompanied by many tears... My only consolation is that the box of loose photos of the children (the not-so-good ones) did make it.My leg was hurting too much to do any housework today, so I caught up on my lace making and embroidery efforts.
7.30 pm Deadwood ladies Bible study. Only 2 ladies could make it. Sandra suggested that we just chat, but Ethel said "No, we yap enough last week. She gonna do her work tonight!" So I "did my work".
There is a verse in the Bible that says "find out what pleases the Lord". We are going through the passages that expressly say that (this or that) pleases God, and trying to apply it to our own lives. Challenging, to say the least.
So sorry to hear about your photo albums. That was my fear when we immigrated to NZ and my poor husband had to put up with all our photo albums in our HAND LUGAGE!!!! We did have enough weight for them but boy did it make it a challenge at the airports with a 1 year old and a pregnant me.
ReplyDeleteI do pray perhaps by some miracle they will get to you. I know how special they are and when you don't have backups or copies anywhere else it is so sad.
Hazel I am so sorry to hear that this is what is missing from this shipment. I am praying that somehow, eventually they will catch up to you.
ReplyDeleteI'm dreading getting to NZ and finding out what didn't make it too...praying that our uninsured boxes arrive! Ultimately it's all just 'wereldsgoed' but irreplaceable worldsgoods in the case of photos and the sentiment and memories that accompany them. I couldn't possibly have fitted my scrapbooks in a suitcase :-(
