Blue Monday

Woke up very early. Cried for my dad. Emailed family, Visited dogs. Hired a video that my son had said reminded him of my dad’s character – The Notebook. Tried to find the Hopkins’ home, but got lost. Visited Iva Henry. Watched “The Notebook”. There was an uncanny similarity between the character of the main male actor in the story, and that of my father, although only those who were close to him would see it.

  1. Hazie I have not seen the Notebook so will have to try and get hold of it to see if I can see the likeness.

I am so grateful that you and Graeme came to see Dad before you left for St. Helena. It meant very much to him seeing you at that time. I was not a drama queen at the funeral, I wept but refrained from swooning or jumping in the hole. The men of the family covered the coffin with sand before we left. I will write a long letter to you this week and George can fax it to you or scan it in or something. I thank God for George, Elizabeth and Tilly who were able to comfort me and help me to be strong. Andrew got lost on the way from burban and drove 900Km's instead of 500Km's to get here. Needless to say he mkissed the funeral totally. But his visit was a balm to my sore heart. deMom
